STUDENT LIFE INFORMATION

 HOUSING

CBDC has no dormitory facilities. However, our church members have willingly opened their homes to function as CBDC dorms. The room charges are $335.00 monthly and board charges $120.00 monthly. Students coming from out of the area will need to secure a place to live. There are large numbers of apartment complexes within a fifteen minute drive of college. There are also many opportunities to buy or rent houses, or condominiums in the area.

The standards of CBDC are high. They are not arbitrary; they are reasonable. Their intent is to create an environment in which you may walk with God as He personally prepares you for a wonderful life of service.

CBDC assumes that you consider the character of this community carefully and agree to abide by the standards. Misconduct involving, but not limited to, these standards will subject a student to disciplinary action which may include dismissal. It should be noted that such dismissal could be without benefit of refund.

The Bible College is not required to impose the same discipline in all situations involving the same standard. The discipline committee will consider the specifics of an incident, the record, and the previous behavior of the student(s) involved. More serious disciplinary action may be taken in situations involving repeated violations of these standards.

If a student will focus on personal excellence and sensitivity to others, he/she will never be asked to give an account before the discipline committee. However, the committee will strive to be utterly consistent in its administration of the rules in this student life guide.

 STANDARDS OF CONDUCT AND APPEARANCE

CBDC believes it is necessary for the testimony of an individual desiring to be in full-time ministry to be above reproach in every area of conduct and appearance. Every student is expected to dress appropriately and modestly at all times. It is the school's firm belief that Christian men and women must dress, look, and act differently from the world. In order for students to mature spiritually, the teaching of Biblical separation is a vital part of the school program. One's outward appearance is a reflection of the condition of the heart and mind. The following standards are to be met.

 DRESS AND APPEARANCE

Each student is expected to give careful consideration to grooming and dress. Classroom dress for men is slacks, a dress shirt, a tie, and a jacket, sport coat, sweater, or vest. Women wear dresses or blouses and skits. Modesty and discretion should be exercised at all times. Casual, Athletics, and Hair code or for further information, refer to the Student Handbook available in the Office of Registrar.

 DORM STANDARDS AND RULES

Designated dorms for the students are always supervised by the mature and responsible adults at all times. The students must agree to be faithful in their financial payments to their landlords, to behave godly in every conduct of their personal lives, and to abide by the CBDC’s rules. All students are encouraged to develop independent living habits and responsibility as part of their preparation to go out in the world.

STUDENT LIFE AND SERVICES

Church Attendance

CBDC is a ministry of Hampshire View Baptist Deaf Church. We believe that Hampshire View Baptist Deaf Church is our biggest classroom. Furthermore, a great distinctive of CBDC is an education offered in an environment of a great local church.

Students must be members of a local church that is in compliance and agreement with our statement of faith, and must attend all their church services. Students moving into the area to attend CBDC will be required to attend the Hampshire View Baptist Deaf Church.

Christian Service

The desire of CBDC is to provide the opportunity for maturing students to touch the lives of other people simultaneous with their own personal growth. The Christian Service Department of the Bible College is designed to provide just such a valuable outlet in near the future.

All students must be involved in a soul-winning activity. This activity is to be conducted through the local church. They must be teaching in a Sunday School class, working on a bus/van route, or doing some other soul-winning activity on a regular basis.
